In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx, local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At our TEDxSantaMonica events, TEDTalks and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a community setting. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

This group is inspired by the speaker bootcamps I lead with my colleague Michael Weiss. We see the commitment, the drive and the passion that people bring to their TEDx speeches. When people know the stakes are high they come with their game on! We want to contribute to that. Not just for TEDx, but everywhere.
